Hey there!
I’m so glad that you stopped by my blog! First and formal: Welcome to Easy Crochet 101. I’m Nhan, and I’m a marketing student with a love for crafting. I love to crochet, sew, make paper craft, dabble in wood craft and also painting. I always prefer to make a gift over buying one. It may be cheap, but it’s always more meaningful; it shows that you care and you put thought and love into your gift. Making a gift is also a way for you to stay creative. So on this blog, you will not only be able to learn how to crochet, but also how to stay creative and maybe a little about the art of giving a gift. I hope you find my blog helpful, and that we have fun along the way!
Reasons:
Before we get started, we need a reason for you to crochet. I find it’s really hard for me to finish a project without any reason to start it with. It doesn’t have to be an important reason for you to start crocheting, instead, it’s like a goal for you, but it will help you find the process to be shorter in time, more meaningful, and much more rewarding in the end. This reason can be anything: you want to try and learn a new skill, or you want to make someone special a gift, maybe you want to create something for your room, or perhaps it's cold outside and you want a pair of gloves or a beanie, maybe even to make a pair of shoes for the new baby in the family, etc...

Inspirations:
One you have a reason in mind, you then need to know what you want to make. If you are new to crochet, I would start with a simple scarf (which I will show you how to make in a few weeks). If you want to make a gift for a family member or a friend, I would suggest you think about making something practical for them. For example, your sister loves to drink coffee, so why don’t you make her a cup cozy? And if you do it for yourself as a hobby, then make something that you're passionate about, something that motives you or simply something that you really like at the moment, such as your favorite TV show, movie, video games, clothing for your pet, etc. One again you will have a much better time making something that you like and have a connection with instead of random things.
Expectation:
Like learning everything else, it will take you some time to learn how to crochet. It will be hard at first, as you will have to learn how to hold the hook with the yarn, to reading the pattern, but you will get used to it very soon. As for the time to complete a project, it can vary depend on how much time you spend working on it a day, and on what you want to make. A scarf big will take me around an hour every night before sleeping and last for about 2 to 3 days. A doll you see here on this blog will take me about 4 to 6 hours to complete. It will be a lot of work and will require a large commitment to finish a project, but as long as you stick with it, and if you have good inspiration or motivation, then you'll be able to finish in no time! I promise when you finally finish your first project, you will feel so accomplished and proud of yourself!
