Crochet 101: Single Stich

Hi guys,
Welcome back to Easy Crochet 101. If you already mastered the foundation chain, this post will teach you how to make a Single crochet stitch. The Single crochet is the simplest stich in crochet. This stitch creates a tight and dense fabric. You can use this stitch over and over by itself or combine with other stitches.
First step is making a foundation chain like I shown you before.

Insert the hook in the second stitch from the hook from front to back.

Wrap the yarn from back to front on the hook. What you just do is called yarn over (yo)
Pull the hook with the yarn on it over the stitch. You should have 2 loops on your hook.
Do another yarn over- wrap the yarn on the hook from back to front.

Pull the hook with the yarn over on it over 2 loops. You just made one single stitch. Now there should be only one loop left on your hook.

To make another stich, insert your hook into the next stitch on the foundation chain.

Keep going until you reach the last stitch on the foundation chain.

To make the second row. Keep your hook in the stitch and flip your work around.
                Make 1 chain.

Then repeat the process. Insert your hook in the second chain from the hook and work forward.

And that's how you make a single stitch. Stay tune for more basic stitches. Good luck and see you next time!
